A new class of haptic tech will redraw the borders of reality | Hard Reset

Tell me again how we don't live in a simulation. Go ahead. I'm listening. lol If you think I'm crazy, think about this same technology advanced over the next 100 years. Now imagine how advanced it will be in 1000 years or 10k years. 50 years ago the internet wasn't a thing. Cell phones didn't exist, and video games were non existent. Now look where we are and how advanced tech is. You think humans would stop advancing technology? The universe is nearly 14 billion years old. This is what we've done in in the last 75 years. Compared to the age of the universe, another civilization that came long long before us in cosmic time had to have advanced beyond anything we can fathom or comprehend because we simply don't have the ability to comprehend...but we can project and speculate and hypothesize how technology develops over time logically. More and more evidence points to the universe being a simulation. I don't know if it is, no one does...but it's a legitimately plausible possibility. Fast forward 100 years or 10k years. We could put someone into a machine, a suit, or transmit this information digitally wirelessly direct to the brain. If you have a basic understanding how the nervous system works and how the brain interprets the input from your sense of touch, sight, sound, smell and taste, you'll realize they're all electrical impulses transmitted through our nerves to our brain to tell our bring the world we're in is real. This device proves we have crossed the threshold of touch, the third sense. We have sight with the visor, we have sound with the speakers, and now we have touch with this hand device. Eventually we will have devices for smell and taste as well. And it will be all in a headset, or a full body suit which will give a full immersion experience in a simulation. It's all electrical signals. That is information. That is data. Data is code.

Here's a crazy thought...what if you are an AI? Think about that for a second. You wouldn't know. The world, if it's a simulation is just real enough to fool our 5 senses enough to convince our brain that the world is real. It's all data. It's all code. If that's true then...You're code, I'm code, everything in the world and the universe is code. All of it. You're AI. I'm AI. We exist inside a simulation, an artificial universe. For what purpose I don't know. Maybe study, maybe fun, maybe we're just living in a universe created by a content creator that evolved long before earth ever existed. How's that for a mind-fuck? lol

Of course, we don't know if that's the case. We can't know. Or can we? There would be clues, not deliberate clues, but there would likely be ways to figure it out. Deja vu, Mandela effect, weird uncanny coincidences, people that look identical but have different DNA "code", unexplained out of place artifacts, archeological anomalies. Richard Feynman I think said something to the effect that the universe could have been created 5 minutes ago with all the historical data already programmed into it and there's no way you could prove it's not.

Anyway, I could write a book on this shit. I just think the concept is cool af. It's a fascinating concept to speculate about. What if we do live in a simulation? What would you do? Would that change you and your worldview? Think about this. The universe is an real as it needs to be to convince your brain it's real. For all intents and purposes, the universe, even if it is a simulation, is real because you can see it, hear it, touch it, smell it and taste it. Here's another mind-fuck for you. The universe is both real and a simulation. It's both! Relative to us, it's both real and a simulation because we sense it, but we also have an idea that's it's not really real. But it is though...but it's not though. But it is. Schrodinger's universe. lol It is both real and a simulation at the same time. A quantum superposition of reality and simulation. It is both on and off, yes and no, a 1 and a 0 at the same time.

Ok...that's enough mind-fucking speculation for now. lol I'm gonna go to bed...or maybe write a book on it.

So...do you think the universe is a simulation? Or do you think we live in reality? If so, what is reality but a construct of the human mind?
