AI is the future. AI is part of human evolution. Technology, when viewed through the lens of biological evolution has one purpose. To help us evolve. That's what technology does. There will be a point, like all growth, where differing views of what it means to be human will clash. Culture, religions, social norms, political, economic, legal and even military will get involved as they have throughout human history when humanity comes to a crossroad. The branches of the tree of life, of biological evolution sometimes end, sometimes they veer off and create entire trees of their own, sometimes they merge into newer stronger branches. Branches that dominate the previous branches. Modern humans were one of those dominant branches. Evolution, both biological and technological, has always favored the creative mind. Not in the short term. Any intellectually inferior brute can cherry-pick to point out a brief moment in human history when creativity was seemingly losing. But our intellect, our logic, our problem solving ability, our creativity is what drives our evolution. Biological evolution throughout human history has happened primarily without our interference. We have contributed to evolution in general with our invention of technologies. Log ago, near the beginning of our development of technology in the stone age, the bronze age, and the iron age, the gap between these biological and technological branches on the evolutionary tree of life have been far from one another. Then we had the ages of enlightenment, many of these time period, some longer than others, have shown us how fast and great some of these technological and intellectual explosions of creativity can be. We went through the industrial age, the information age, and now we're in a new age. We're at the beginning of a new age of change. A new stage in evolution. We're entering the Second Stage of Evolution. Evolution has 3 stages. In a thesis I wrote called Quantum Life Hypothesis, I posit two things, 1 - That throughout the universe evolution is not limited to biology, and 2 - That evolution is all-encompassing of all life and has 3 core stages (and types) of "Life". STAGE 1) Biological Life (carbon-based), STAGE 2) Technological (silicon-based), STAGE 3) Quantum Life (energy-based). I believe we may be entering a transitional "sub-stage" between the first two stages of evolution whereby an intelligent biological lifeform (humans) have reached the point in biological evolution where it's no longer superior to any other form of life and it must now either A) Deliberately stop evolving itself or B) Merge with technology to enter into Stage 2 of evolution and become a new-human, a new technological life form. This is where evolution is going. We're at a turning point in human history. It is happening now, whether we like it or not. Some will fight it. Like the Neanderthals fought modern humans for over 100k years before they died off. I doubt this next war will last anywhere near that long. I think it will be a very brief (in evolutionary time). The war I refer to will be between those that fight evolution and advancement of the species against those that use technology to evolve our lives and our creativity. Technology has unlocked more and more secrets of the universe and it has given us the power to evolve ourselves. We owe it to ourselves, individually and to humanity to evolve beyond the human into the the next stage of evolution. Technological life. A new age and a new human, evolved, advanced, technologically and creatively and intellectually superior to modern humans. Modern humans are the modern day Neanderthals. There are those who will fight against the evolution of humanity. They will lose or they will make us all lose by nuking the world. I for one hope it doesn't come to that. I envision a bright future for what humans will evolve into. Not some technological monstrosity. But a newer more advanced more mature and superior species that evolves itself into the cosmos. An AI powered human with infinitely upgradable parts. A technological immortal superintelligent sentient new kind of human being, enhanced with all the highest technological advancements to create a being so intelligent, so creative and so evolved that we move out into the universe to explore strange new worlds and discover new civilizations. To evolve ourselves beyond our birthplace which is this planet, so small and confining. So remote and unimportant other than the fact which we exist on it. There's an entire universe out there to explore and secrets uncover, discoveries to be made, and mysteries to solve. Our origins are intimately tied to the physics of the universe and our self awareness and ability to evolve ourselves is, in my opinion, not only a way for the universe to know itself, but a way for us to evolve ourselves and go home, to the universe that created us. We do that through our advancement and our creativity. AI and technology in general are the mechanics of evolution. AI will enhance and increase our own intelligence. Those who fail to embrace AI will be left behind by those of us who merge with it to take control of our evolution. To find our way home to the universe and beyond. (just realized that last bit kind of sounded like Buzz Lightyear). LOL My point is we now have control over our own evolution. We can either use it for the good advancement of humanity, or we can fight amongst ourselves. I choose to evolve. I want to evolve. I want to see and explore the universe. I don't believe for a second that humanity is our only purpose or goal. I do not believe for a second that that is all there is to our purpose. Our purpose is what we make it. There's a whole fucking universe out there to explore. The only way to explore it is to evolve into a new being and go explore it. We do that with technology. We do that through our creativity, enhanced by AI and we use AI as the tool it is. An evolutionary advancement tool to help us on our evolutionary journey to Quantum Life. That's what I believe. Wholeheartedly and completely. I believe we have great creativity and I believe AI enhances and expands that creativity exponentially and infinitely. I believe we can use it to grow evolve ourselves eventually to become the universe itself. A few trillion years from now. For now, we're stuck in this transitionary stage between STAGE 1 and STAGE 2 of evolution in the Quantum Life Hypothesis. It's up to us to make decide whether to fight it and go extinct. It's up to us whether we evolve or die. I choose to evolve. I choose the universe.
