I have been saying this for a LONG TIME. But because I don't have a string of letters behind my name, no one listens. I wrote a thesis on this called the Quantum Life Hypothesis that posits that biological life is only the FIRST STAGE of 3 stages of evolution that exist. I've been saying this shit for a long time. Humanity (biological life) is only the FIRST stage in the 3 stages of life. There's a transitionary period between the biological and technological life. People think technology can't be "alive" by definition. But it can be. It IS! Out there somewhere, over the 13.8 billion years the universe has existed this has played out BILLIONS of times before we ever existed. We are only in the first stage of evolution. The transitionary period is coming when we humans (the biological life) merges with the technological (technology, AI, computing, robotics, genetic engineering, augmentation) and then humans become a new species. Post-human technological life forms. Then full on AI powered machines once we are able to transfer our consciousness to machines and still experience all our regular emotions and keep our essence of what and who we are.

The idea that humans, or biological life is the pinnacle of life in the universe is FUCKING ABSURD! It's arrogant and IGNORANT! It's small minded and borders on delusional to think otherwise.

The reality is humans think we're special. We're not. We're only special to ourselves and our families. Beyond that no one or nothing gives a fuck about us. No one cares. Nothing cares. The universe doesn't give a shit about you or this planet or this solar system or even our entire galaxy. The universe EATS galaxies and shits them out into other dimensions as supermassive black holes. Most people can't comprehend how fucking utterly fucking huge the universe is. People don't even usually leave their fucking safe little 20 miles radius bubble from where they're born, or travel their country, the world for that matter, much less to outer space, the moon, Mars. etc. Humans are fucking STUPID ignorant uneducated superstitious arrogant easily frightened emotional little species that thinks the universe revolves around us. It doesn't. The universe is indifferent to our being and our existence. Do you realize how many billions of alien civilizations have probably lived and died and become extinct in this universe in the 13.8 billion years since the Big Bang? Likely more billions than we could ever count.

And here we are thinking we're all there is, deluding ourselves into thinking we're special, that the universe was created for us by some higher power and that it cares if we live or die and that it only wants us to be happy... LOL HAHAHAHA! It's fucking ludicrous. It's absurd. It's ridiculously childish to believe such fucking utter nonsense.

So when this guy says he thinks it's "quite conceivable that humanity is just a passing phase in the evolution of intelligence.” I laugh and say.
